Not that long ago, it was possible to download and share a spreadsheet, a database, an accounting system, and a myriad of other types of information. These days, it’s a different story. But in the last couple of years, we’ve come to realize that what we call “information” has become more of a liability. The information you and I create and share is now so sensitive and personal that it has been classified as a security threat.

To put it bluntly, when you share information with third parties, there is a very real possibility that you can be held liable. Like many other things, this is because of a growing trend of “data breaches.” A recent study found that 1,000,000 people have had their personal information taken from them, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The reason why I bring this up is because this is one of those things that is a little embarrassing to admit. We are talking about information we create and share on the web, which is now being classified as “sensitive.” The reason that we are discussing this is because we have started to discuss it internally at Access Industries, and we realized that there is a lot of discussion going on in our offices about security.

Access Industries, or AT, is one of the largest security companies in the world. AT’s clients include companies like the Federal Government, the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and even the U.S. Marshals. We are one of the largest security companies in the world. We have over 1,000 employees that work in our company and we have over 400 of those employees that work in our headquarters in Arizona.
