You might remember from the title of the previous section, that our brains are constantly scanning for information that we don’t want to see. We’re constantly looking for it in our environment and in our thoughts, and this is especially true for a lot of people.
In addition to the two-second scan, our brain also goes through a lot of other activities like reading, listening, and watching movies. Even if our mind isnt in the midst of scanning, it doesnt mean that we dont have a filter on what we see so if something is out of the ordinary, it probably wont be the first thing we think of.
Adverse information is the kind of information that we don’t want to include in ourselves because it can be detrimental to our state of mind. For instance, if we have a bad day, we tend to not allow ourselves to think about it. Even when we would like to think about something, we tend to just deny it until it passes and then think about it.
I know it’s a bit extreme to say, “if you’re in a bad mood, just don’t think about it.” But sometimes we have to live with the consequences of our thoughts, even if they are negative. An example of this is the time I was in a bad mood and went to some place in the country for a day. The first place I went was our local library.
For awhile I was really thinking about it all day and then I realized that was really really stupid. I started to think about the time I was in a bad mood and went to some new place. I realized it wasn’t really as bad as when I went to the library.
When we’re negative, we may not realize what’s going on. When we think something is a bad thing, we tend to get mad and act out. So when our thoughts are negative, we might act out in a certain way. It can create our reality and affect our future. For example, some people can get really paranoid and act out. Others can get really angry and act out.
People can get really angry and act out because the negative thoughts they have about life can make them feel bad. Think about it. You feel bad about something, you think you have to act out, and now you’re acting out. Now, you can either act out and feel bad about it, or you can just feel bad to begin with. If you think it is a bad thing, then you act it out.
If you think something is bad, you will act out it. When I was a kid, I thought about how the word “bad” was a negative word. I had a bad day, so I thought about how I had a negative thought about it. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and acting out it. Then I realized that negative thoughts and negative feelings are the same thing.
Negative thoughts can be harmful. Your brain is a complex organ, and you can have negative thoughts about almost anything. Negative feelings have a similar effect as negative thinking. Negative feelings can be both useful and harmful. The trick is how we act on them. Sometimes, when you experience a negative feeling, you feel motivated to act out that negative feeling. Often we act out the negative emotion or thought out of instinct.
Negative emotions are not the only things that can be harmful. Negative thinking can also be harmful. Negative thoughts can be harmful. Negative feelings can be both useful and harmful.
