Justin overdorff is my favorite. I haven’t read this book yet, but I think it’s an absolute must-have for anyone who wants to do serious homework. I loved this book because I found it to be an in-depth study of the psychology and sociology of self-care through the lens of a psychologist.
This book is based on the works of a psychologist named Dr. Sheryl K. Sandberg, who wrote in her book, “The Mindful Self,” that the biggest barriers to doing self-care are “maintaining the illusion that you are taking care of yourself.” At first glance, this book seems to take a pretty hard line on this issue, so I hope that you’ll forgive those of us who have read the original book.
So, for those of you who are new to this topic, the book is actually an over-simplification of the science of mindfulness. Sandberg actually started out in the 1950’s, and her work as a psychologist has been applied to the study of the psychology of other people since then. However, her most recent book, The Mindful Self, is a pretty good example of an applied work of psychology, which Sandberg actually considers to be an example of personal psychology.
The book is titled A Mindful Self: A Mindful Life.
Sandberg’s work is not particularly comprehensive, but is pretty much the best example of personal psychology on the subject. She goes into much more detail on the use of the word “mindful.” And unlike most of her work, the book is a very easy to read and understanding book that’s easy to read and understand.
The book is a really great introduction to the topic of how to work with your own thoughts, and why it is important to be mindful. It has a lot of great examples of how to work with your own thoughts and how to be mindful of them. The book, in short, is the perfect primer for anyone who wants to get to a deeper understanding of how to be mindful of their own thoughts.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this book. I’ve been listening to it for a few days and as I’m reading I’m thinking about the book (and the ideas it presents). It’s the perfect starting off point to getting into being mindful of your own thoughts and how to start working with them.
I also highly recommend the book if you want to go deeper into the practice of mindfulness. From the intro, you can see the author is a psychologist. She also studies the effects of mindfulness on the brain.
In the book you’ll also find some fascinating details about how mindfulness can help improve your decision making skills. You’ll learn about how the “monkey mind” (how the mind works) influences decisions. And how to learn to become mindful of your own thoughts and emotions.
The book is available at Amazon.com for $13.99.
