We are all aware of how we’ve made our life into a matrix. We’re all aware of the information we share or what people we know. We’re all aware of the information we’ve received from our social media and what we don’t.
So if you share symmetric information, you can’t be sure if it is really yours or not. At the moment, your friend is sharing your phone number with your brother and it is all going to be fine since they are not your contacts. But if you happen to share symmetric content with your friends, you might be in some serious trouble.
In a way, symmetric information isn’t quite as simple as it sounds. For one, the information you share is not only symmetric, it is also asymmetric. For example, your friend may be sharing a phone number with their brother, not their brother with your friend. So, the information that is shared doesn’t have to be the same, it can be different. However, the information shared can also be the same.
Imagine you told your friend your sister’s phone number. Your friend may say it, and your sister may say it. So their phone number is now symmetric information. But it is not the same, its not symmetric. So, you have to make sure you have the right information.
You can get the same symmetric information using the phone number for example by calling your friend, and your sister and asking them to call you. Or by calling your sister, and your friend and asking them to call you. It is the same symmetric information that is being shared.
The problem with symmetric information is that it makes it that much harder to figure out the truth about what is happening. You may call your sister and it’s the same thing, and you may call your friend and it’s different, but it’s not the same thing.
It’s a little like the concept of asymmetric information. For example, how would you figure out if someone is lying by calling your aunt, or by calling your friend and your sister and asking them to call you? The answer would be the same.
The problem with symmetric information, at least in our current society is that it makes it that much harder to figure out what is really going on. You may call your sister and its the same thing, and you may call your friend and its different, but its not the same thing. Its a little like the concept of asymmetric information.
A symmetric information system is one in which there is only one right answer, and we are programmed to know that right answer. Now, that would make it very hard for us to figure out where the truth lies. So the answer to this question is to ask another question. What if there is another right answer that is not the same as the first one? What if the other right answer is that the truth isn’t the only answer? This is called asymmetric information.
If two people can learn something from each other, and both of them are right, then we have symmetric information. If one person is right and the other is wrong, however, this is known as asymmetric information. And so, the idea of symmetric information is that there is one right answer, and that right answer does not have to be the same as the answer that you were programmed to know.
